Wow! Today I bought my first serious mountain bike here in Chumpoun (Thailand). I got sick of renting crappy bikes for exorbitant rental rates (in Bangkok they wanted $10/day). I bought the Trek Wahoo 2012, which has beautiful 29″ wheels. I road for several hours today and the bike feels like a boat – that is, the cockpit feels SO roomy and the ride is incredibly smooth due to the wheels. Check out info about the bike on the main Trek web site (just enter “Wahoo 2012″ in search. Your thoughts?

I do but purchase it from either Phil Webb or Boo Bicycles, both incredibly reputable builders

bamboo bike studio = a bunch of kids who know jack shit building bikes

  • UnRealLivingHQ says:

I did not, the bamboo bike I had was built at the bamboo bike studio (aka NOT professional bike builders)

Durianrider’s frame is from Phil Webb, the only other bamboo bike I can recommend would be from boo bicycles in the USA

  • baddogonline says:

So, you no longer recommend the bamboo bikes? ;)

  • joe6dotcom says:

Did you have the bamboo bike like DurianRider uses? It that what broke?
